These terms govern your use of the SYE iOS app and the shouldyoueatit.app website. By using either, you agree to these terms. If you don't, please don't use the service.

1. Service description

SYE is a food scanner that analyzes products, menus, and shelves and provides personalized scores based on the dietary profile you configure. It is a decision-support tool, not medical advice.

2. Medical disclaimer

SYE provides nutritional analysis for informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making decisions about your diet, especially if you have allergies, medical conditions, are pregnant, or are caring for a child. SYE is not liable for any health outcomes resulting from food choices made based on its analysis.

3. Subscription terms

SYE Pro is an auto-renewing subscription priced at $2.99/month (or local equivalent), billed by Apple via the App Store. Key terms:

  • Length: 1 month, auto-renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID upon purchase confirmation
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple ID settings
  • The free tier (3 scans per day) remains available without subscription
  • Refunds are handled by Apple per the App Store's policy

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app
  • Use the app to violate any applicable law
  • Make automated or scripted requests to our Cloud Functions outside the app's normal operation
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service

5. Intellectual property

The SYE name, logo, and app are owned by Hamza Zinbi. Open Food Facts data is used under the Open Database License. Articles on this website are © Hamza Zinbi unless otherwise noted; you may share them with attribution.

6. Service availability

We provide SYE on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We don't guarantee uninterrupted operation of the AI scoring service or 100% accuracy of the database. We may update, modify, or discontinue features with notice via app release notes.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SYE and its developer are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or business arising from your use of the service.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of France, except where mandatory consumer law of your country of residence applies.

9. Changes

We may update these terms occasionally. Significant changes will be communicated via app release notes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
